No doubt, Hewlett-Packard manufactures a large scale of printers that can be used for various purposes, such as you can use to print quality images, copy documents, print text and photos in black or color printing. However, if you get that your HP printer isn’t printing in color, it’s possible that the color ink cartridge is out of the ink. In case the cartridge is not running out, it might be difficult to figure out the problem. At such time, you can try the following tips to troubleshoot your printer and figure out the cause of color printing issues.

Note - You should instantly call on the HP support phone number Canada to get your problems fixed if the problem exists even after troubleshooting your printer.

Step 1 - Check the Print Cartridge

  1. Access the front or cover of your printer to reveal the color cartridge, and then pull the cartridge out from the machine and set it aside.
  2. Insert a new HP color cartridge and try to print again. It’s possible that the empty or faulty color ink cartridge is causing the issues. If you’re using the new cartridge or it is one-quarter full, go to the next step.
  3. Take the print cartridge out from your printer. Search the side of the cartridge, and you see an expiration date. If you’re hardly using the color ink cartridge or you no longer use it, the ink may be expired or ruined. Old ink can clump or dry up, causing the printer to no longer print correctly.
  4. In case the ink is older, you should buy a new color cartridge. Put the new cartridge into your HP printer and try to print the documents again. If it doesn’t solve the issue, go to the next solution.

Step 2 - Printheads

  1. Clean the Printhead. It prints the text and images to the paper as it traverses under the ink cartridge.
  2. Press the ‘Power’ button and hold it down. When Power button pressed down, you need to press the ‘Resume’ option six times.
  3. Now, release the pressed Power button, and your printer will clean the printheads in a minor wash.
  4. Try printing your color documents again. If your printer still doesn’t work, you need to press the ‘Power’ button and hold it again, but push the ‘Resume’ button five times to perform a more reasonable cleaning process.  If the problem continues, go to the next step.
  5. Press the ‘Power’ button and hold it one last time. When you have pressed the ‘Power’ button, you need to push the ‘Resume’ button seven times to perform a deep cleaning. Try to print your color documents again. If it’s still not printing in color, go to the next phase.

Step 3 - Enable Color Option

  1. To do so, click the Windows Start menu on the desktop of your PC. Choose the ‘Settings’ icon, and then click the ‘Printers’ option in the Settings menu.
  2. Right-click the HP printer and choose the ‘Properties’ tab. Click the ‘Printing Preferences’ tab from the ‘Properties’ dialog box.
  3. Click the ‘Paper/Quality’ tab, and then the ‘Color’ button, followed by the ‘OK’ to exit the window.

After finishing all troubleshooting steps, you can try to print your color documents again. However, if your HP printer is still not printing the color documents, it’s time to consult the specialist to get your problems to be resolved. You can call on the HP technical support number to get instant help and solutions to fix the color printing issues within the shortest time.
